ROK launches the #ROK10000 campaign
10 June 2022
Reach Out 2 Kids (ROK) was incredibly pleased to mark the official start of the charity’s #ROK10000 fundraising campaign yesterday, raising nearly £2,000 at the campaign launch event in London.
The #ROK10000 campaign aims to raise £10,000 to enable ROK to reach and support 1,500 students in 2022-3 with impactful and exciting programmes, facilitated by ROK and delivered by our partner companies. This will help us to continue to deliver our programmes for
our partner schools.
Yesterday’s successful launch took place at the offices of Liberty Specialty Markets, with many of the ROK team, our partner companies and schools and other supporters in attendance.
The event included the presentation of a gift to student Aasiya Salahuddin-khan, who won the recent competition to design ROK’s new logo; a talk from Chris Page, founder of Jelly London, reflecting on the company’s partnership with ROK; speeches from Grace Pastore and Savera Syed of Edmonton County School on how ROK’s support has impacted their school; and a talk from Myles Mugo, former ROK mentee and current ROK ambassador on how the charity’s support has impacted his life.
The evening wrapped up with an exciting auction session – and congratulations to all who won their bids!
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who made the event possible: the ROK team, Liberty Specialty Markets for kindly providing such a fantastic event space, Jelly London, Clapton Girls’ and Edmonton County for their continued support (and Grace and Savera for kindly speaking at the event) and ROK ambassador Myles.
We are also incredibly grateful to the following companies for supporting our fundraising efforts:
Sip N Stroke, who gifted tickets for Sip N Stroke events for ROK to auction
Black Trail Runners, who gifted space for Black to the Trails Running Event
The Vintners Company, who gifted a vintage bottle of cognac
Imogene Stephenson aka Genie Art, who donated artwork
Fielding Estate Winery, who produced the lovely wine, two bottles of which were purchased and donated.
