ROK supports Edmonton County careers fair

24 February 2024

Reach Out 2 Kids (ROK) was incredibly pleased to once again support partner school Edmonton County, as they hosted a successful careers fair earlier this week!

The event gave around 450 students from years 11-13 the opportunity to meet a range of employers and apprenticeship providers, who each provided information about their company and the types of careers available within their industry during the event.

Commenting, ROK founder and CEO Denise Stephenson said: “It was a fantastic, though tiring(!) day, but more importantly, exciting and inspiring. Quite a number of students were already crystal clear in their future ambitions, but even for those who did not know which career avenue they want to go down, the event presented opportunities to explore their interests to help steer them into a potential career option. This left them (we hope!) engaged and encouraged to do more research, speak to other exhibitors and pursue work experience placements.”

“It was lovely to meet the students as well as some potential new potential corporate partners. A huge thanks to our partners and contacts who gave their support to the careers fair: Marie-Christine Willis from 1GC, Equity City, Sharpe Pritchard, Croftstone, and Greenberg Traurig. Our biggest thanks goes to Grace Pastore, head of careers at Edmonton County School, who did an amazing job of pulling together the careers fair – it was a huge success!"
